As Senior Application Engineer, you will be a key technical interface between eyeo and its customers, translating cutting-edge image sensor technology into successful camera system implementations. You will work at the intersection of embedded software, ISP and color processing, image sensor and camera expertise, and customer-oriented communication.

This role requires the ability to It is a diverse position with gives the opportunity for hands-on in depth engineering of a brand new fresh take on image sensors and color processing.

 

Preferred Profile

  • Background in image quality evaluation, characterization, or tuning and/or programming for FPGAs
  • Experience with evaluation boards, reference platforms, or camera bring-up
  • Familiarity with image quality metrics (e.g., SNR, DR, MTF, color accuracy)
  • Experience with customer interactions
  • Experience working in a start-up or fast-paced technology environment

Qualifications:

Technical Expertise (Required)

  • Strong software programming skills, and python scripting
  • Proven experience with embedded software development for camera or imaging systems
  • Deep knowledge of ISP pipelines and color processing
  • Strong image sensor expertise, including performance metrics and operating principles
  • Broad camera system expertise, including sensor, optics, ISP, and system integration

Communication & Customer Skills (Required)

  • Excellent customer-oriented communication skills
  • Ability to clearly explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working directly with customers or external partners in a technical role

Key responsibilities:

Customer & Application Support

  • Act as the primary technical contact for customers during evaluation, integration, and ramp-up of eyeo image sensor solutions.
  • Support customers in camera system bring-up, debug, and optimization, from sensor to image quality output.
  • Translate customer use cases and system constraints into actionable technical feedback for internal R&D teams.

Embedded Software & ISP Expertise

  • Develop, adapt, and support embedded software for image sensor bring-up and evaluation platforms.
  • Support and optimize ISP pipelines, including tuning and validation of:
    • Color processing
    • Noise reduction
    • HDR and dynamic range behavior
    • Image quality trade-offs
  • Contribute to image quality evaluation, benchmarking, and tuning methodologies.

Image Sensor & Camera System Engineering

  • Provide deep technical support related to:
    • CMOS image sensors
    • Camera architectures (sensor, optics, ISP, firmware, host interface)
    • Sensor operating modes, readout schemes, and performance trade-offs
  • Collaborate with system, sensor, color science, and photonics teams to ensure system-level optimization.

Internal Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer

  • Work closely with Product, R&D, and Commercial teams to align technical capabilities with market needs.
  • Create and maintain application notes, reference designs, and demo material.
  • Support pre‑sales activities through technical presentations, demos, and feasibility discussions.
